Mission Statement

St Benignus National School, Balscadden, which is a Catholic co-educational school, will do its utmost to enable every child to live a full life as a child and to promote the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the child: Intellectual, cultural, moral, emotional and spiritual, thus equipping them with the skills and good self esteem to contribute to society and become life- long learners.

To realise these aims, we as a staff will endeavour to create a positive school climate which is inclusive, tolerant, respectful and democratic.

School Ethos

St Benignus National School is a Roman Catholic school under the patronage of the Catholic Archibishop of Dublin.

As a Roman Catholic school we aim to promote the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the pupil: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral, emotional and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and other people. The Catholic school provides religious education for the pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church and promotes the formation of the pupils in the Catholic faith.
