SPORTS DAY
Sports Day
will take place on
Fri 18th June
(weather permitting). A timetable of events is available from the
Office on the day. A great family day out. Sports person of the year
will be presented on the day. Past pupils are very welcome but
must be supervised.
Don’t forget to bring a picnic!
END OF YEAR MASS – 6th CLASS
Mass will
take place on
Fri 25th June
in
Balscadden
Church at 7.30 pm. 6th Class will be presented with certificates and
medals.
CONFIRMATION
Fr. Eugene
confirmed 6th Class children in Balscadden Church on Wed 12th May.
Congratulations to the children of 6th class who enjoyed a lovely and
very personal ceremony in the church. Also many thanks to the class
teacher, Mr. White for all his hard work and to Ms. McGonigle for music
preparation.
FIRST COMMUNION
Children
and parents took part in a beautiful ceremony in the church on Sat 22nd
May.
Refreshments
were provided in the school afterwards by 3rd class parents. This
event was very well organized and 3rd class parents did a fantastic job.
Many thanks to all the parents who helped.
Also thanks
to class teacher Ms. Meehan for her hard work and to Ms. Donnelly,
Ms McGonigle
and the choir for making this a very special occasion.
SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE
There was a
Céili Mór
during our Seachtain Na Gaeilge on 16th March. All classes went onto
the playground and danced together. Well done to Breda for organizing
this event which the staff and children really enjoyed.

EUROCHILD 2010
6 Children
from 4th class have been selected by the Eurochild Competition Judging
Panel for publication in this years ‘Eurochild Anthology of Children's
Artwork & Poetry’ They have been invited down to Cork for a special
launch on Friday, June 18th. Sean, Bess, Dagmara, Aaron and Sarah were
chosen for their poetry and Bill for his illustrations.
Congratulations to our published poets and illustrators!

SANTRY
Congratulations to all the Santry athletes who competed on Tues 8th
June. They have all trained tirelessy over the last month. The girls
featured well with the U10’s & U11’s winning gold. Well done to U13
boys who also won gold. The girls also did well with Blathnaid Reynolds
winning gold and Hannah Tully winning silver in the sprints.
Many thanks
to Mrs. Synnott, Ms. Faulkner, Ms. Watters and Philomena who trained the
athletes every Thursday in Gormanston.

SCHOOL UNIFORM & TRACKSUITS
The school
uniform is supplied by McFaddens in Balbriggan. The school crest is
now available on jumpers/cardigans. Please ensure that
all clothing is labeled with your child’s name.
BOYS GAELIC
The boys
football team reached the semi-final of the 2010 Fingal Football
League. The semi-final was played in Swords and ended in a draw after
extra time, the sides still could not be separated and so the game went
to a replay in Rolestown. The team fought bravely and were eventually
beaten in a pulsating encounter. Well done to the team and many thanks
to the whole panel, especially players from the younger classes who
trained diligently throughout the year. Baile Scadán abú!
GIRLS GAELIC
Congratulations to the girls football team who won the Balbriggan
tournament. They played magnificently in all their matches and were
victorious over St. Molaga’s in the final. Well done to Ms. Donnelly and
thanks for training the team all year.

year.
