Balscadden National School An African Adventure |

In July 2007 Avril Murray (currently
teaching 2nd class) was one of 13 Irish volunteers who brought a
group of Kenyan children from an orphanage in Nairobi on a holiday by the
sea in Mombasa. The children ranged from
5 years to 13 years and it was their first trip to the seaside. Part of
the proceeds of the 2007 Book and Bun sale from 6th class were used to
buy some clothes and a parachute game for the children. The photographs
below show the children on the beach with the parachute game. A thank
you letter written to Balscadden school by the children in Nairobi is
also displayed.
